Goldman Sachs Ayco (Ayco)partners with Fortune 1000 companies to design and implement tailored financial planning programs for their workforce-leveraging the 50-year heritage of Ayco and the comprehensive resources of Goldman Sachs to meet the evolving needs of their employees. Ayco believes companies best serve their stakeholders and the greater economy when their employees financial lives are clear understood and in their control. Ayco advisors and technical specialists help clients achieve their personal financial goals through education and guided implementation across seven key financial disciplines including employee benefit planning.

The Estate Settlement Services(ESS) team works with advisors who service high net worth to ultra-high net worth clients across the United States. ESS is an internal team comprised of technical advisors who provide education training and practical guidance to advisor teams to help the advisors efficiently navigate the process of settling client estates and trusts. Members of the ESS team interact with many segments of the firm including working closely with internal compliance officers and legal departments while also connecting externally with the clients fiduciary legal and tax advisors.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

As an Estate Settlement Services Advisor you will be at the forefront of complex estate and trust administration applying your expertise to:

  • Decipher and Interpret:Masterfully interpret summarize and understand intricate wills and trusts from all 50 states translating complex legal language into clear actionable insights.
  • Educate and Advise:Articulate sophisticated estate planning and administration concepts with clarity and precision to colleagues and client advisors fostering understanding and informed decision-making.
  • Lead Strategic Engagements:Facilitate and lead critical discussions with client advisors internal compliance and legal teams ensuring smooth and compliant processes.
  • Manage Critical Transitions:Oversee the new contracting process following a clients passing coordinating seamlessly with internal contracting and billing teams.
  • Cultivate External Relationships:Interact directly with client attorneys tax advisors and corporate fiduciaries representing the firms commitment to comprehensive client support.
  • Drive Thought Leadership:Participate in internal and external marketing efforts sharing your expertise and enhancing the teams profile and capabilities.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

We seek a highly motivated detail-oriented and client-centric professional with a strong legal background and a commitment to excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and Juris Doctor (J.D.) required.
  • 5 plus years of dedicated experience in estate and trust planning and administration.
  • Profound understanding of core estate planning and administration principles.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative yet autonomous environment demonstrating clear thinking and sound judgment under pressure.
  • Strong organizational interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Unwavering commitment to excellence and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications (A Plus If You Have):

  • Experience with fiduciary income tax return preparation and estate/gift tax return preparation (note: direct tax preparation is NOT required for this role).
  • Familiarity with directed trust and delegated trust models.
  • Basic understanding of the fiduciary investment process.

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Albany NY United States-based position is$80000 - $250000. In addition you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
