Job Summary

2-3 Months Contract with a Local Authority

Summary
  • The Family Support Worker is responsible for conducting both statutory and non-statutory assessments and delivering family support interventions to children and families throughout the borough. This role is crucial in ensuring children can safely remain within their family networks while promoting positive parenting enhancing family functioning and facilitating engagement with community services.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain respectful relationships with children families and their support networks ensuring their voices are heard and accurately documented.
  • Monitor and assess risks within family homes or community settings assisting in the implementation of agreed intervention plans.
  • Work independently as the lead professional when necessary making informed decisions about required tasks.
  • Raise concerns with managers regarding child safety or the quality of parenting.
Essential Experience
  • Substantial experience in direct work with children and families.
  • Experience using evidence-based approaches in family interventions.
  • Experience working collaboratively within multi-agency environments.
Essential Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent training in child and family work.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Additional Information
  • The role requires an enhanced DBS.
  • Bi-weekly payment schedule.
