Head Chef & Kitchen Manager Luxury Lodge Bahamas
Salary: USD 3450 per month Live-in
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and disciplined Head Chef & Kitchen Manager for a luxury fly-fishing lodge in the Bahamas. This is a hands-on role for a chef whose personal cooking ability consistency and judgement are central to delivering an exceptional dining experience. The Head Chef will personally execute a minimum of five dinner services per week supported only by service staff and a sculler with breakfast and lunch handled by two local chefs.
Contract & Package
10-month fixed-term contract (1 October 30 July)
Gross salary: USD 3450 per month
Performance bonus: USD 5000 (end-of-season)
Six weeks paid leave
Six days on one day off (where operations allow)
On-site accommodation and meals provided
Return economy flight included
Use of company vehicle (subject to availability)
Purpose of the Role
Deliver a consistently excellent dining experience through direct personal execution
Maintain disciplined cost control and professional kitchen standards
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Execution
Personally cook and execute dinner service a minimum of five nights per week
Plan and execute menus aligned with guest expectations
Ensure food quality consistency and presentation at all times
Coordinate with service staff during dinner service
Operational Oversight
Supervise local chefs responsible for breakfast and lunch services
Maintain kitchen hygiene safety and operational standards
Train and support local kitchen staff
Procurement & Financial Management
Procure food and kitchen supplies within budget
Manage stock levels and suppliers
Submit invoices and payment requests to the Lodge Manager
Control food costs in line with budget and bed-night metrics
Capital Expenditure
Contribute to annual CAPEX planning for kitchen equipment
Submit CAPEX requests during scheduled review periods
Authority & Decision-Making
Full autonomy over menu design and dinner service execution
Operational oversight of local chefs for breakfast and lunch
Direct collaboration with the Lodge Manager
