Reports to: COO / CEO; dotted line to Board Risk Committee (where applicable).

Role Overview

The VP Enterprise Risk owns the enterprise risk management framework aligning risk governance with business strategy across operational regulatory financial and reputational risk. This role supports executive leadership and the board with clear risk intelligence and scalable controls.

Key Responsibilities

Design and operate an enterprise risk management (ERM) framework including risk taxonomy appetite KRIs and reporting cadence.
Lead risk assessments across operations products third parties and regulatory domains; ensure mitigation plans are owned and tracked.
Partner with Compliance to integrate regulatory risk with operational risk; drive consistent governance and escalation.
Oversee third-party/vendor risk management and business continuity frameworks.
Develop executive and board reporting including scenario analysis and key risk trends.
Support strategic initiatives (new products new states partnerships) with risk reviews and control requirements.

Requirements

Required Experience

10 years in enterprise risk / operational risk within financial services FinTech banking or payments.
Board and executive reporting experience with demonstrated ability to influence decision-making.
Strong grasp of regulatory risk drivers controls and governance in regulated environments.

Preferred Background

Experience in growth-stage scaling environments; experience with SOC2/ISO vendor risk and incident response governance.
Risk analytics / data-driven risk monitoring experience.

Compensation Guidance

Typical US compensation: $200000 $300000 base plus bonus/equity depending on stage.
