Who you are
You are a Mechanical Engineering student going into your Junior or Senior year looking for experience and exposure in building mechanics energy systems and performance.
What you will do
At Ecosystem you wont work on standard projects with off-the-shelf solutions. Youll take on existing energy-intensive and complex buildings designed at a time when energy was inexpensive. Every mandate is unique and requires critical thinking creativity and resourcefulness.
More specifically you will:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety best practices on construction sites.
- Collaborate with design and construction engineers during the planning and execution of energy efficiency projects.
- Execute retrofits in occupied buildings and help supervise the work site.
- Embrace the challenge of keeping a building operational while greatly reducing their energy usage.
- Participate in meetings and communicate with clients contractors internal project team and other stakeholders (all in different ways but often in the same day) to coordinate resolve issues and ensure smooth project implementation.
- Collaborate in the procurement and management of supplier and subcontractor work packages.
- Assist with project scheduling and risk assessments.
- Assist in budget analysis cost and margin projections estimate project changes & impacts etc.
Your profile
- Mechanical engineering student entering your junior or senior year.
- Curiosity about bringing a project from drawing board to real life.
- Interest in HVAC and energy system performance.
- Effective collaboration with team members clients and stakeholders is essential.
- While not required any previous experience in engineering or construction-related fields is a definite plus.
- Able to travel to and work on-site daily and as needed.
