Brief Description/Job Summary (this section is to be used for postings on social media outlets):

The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Shipping/Receiving clerk for our Southaven MS facility. The Shipping/Receiving clerk performs a variety of routine shipping and receiving tasks. Compares identifying information on incoming or outgoing shipments with purchase orders invoices or other documents.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

• Sorts counts packages labels insures unpacks and/or logs inventory that is shipped or received.
• Records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
• May trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.
• May maintain department database prepare routine reports and file shipping/receiving records.
• Follows established departmental policies procedures and objectives continuous quality improvement objectives and safety environmental and/or infection control standards.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications: Education Experience Skills Abilities License/Certification:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
• 2-3 years prior experience in an industrial warehouse environment
• Knowledge of light equipment operation and or maintenance
• Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures
• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
• Ability to read write and perform simple arithmetic
• Ability to receive stock and/or deliver goods
• Ability to receive track and distribute materials supplies and equipment
• Ability to read sort check count and verify numbers
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork and maintain records
• Ability to read understand follow and enforce safety procedures
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
