This is a key position within the Finance Team which has responsibility for producing experience investigations and other data analytics.
In this role you will analyse TALs insurance experience including lapse morbidity and mortality across our Group Direct Retail and Investment portfolios. You will apply actuarial tools systems and established processes while developing your understanding of how the actuarial function supports the broader business.
In this role you will:
- Support senior staff in analysing TALs experience including interpretation of analysis and business messaging.
- Assist the Insurance Analytics Manager in making recommendations of assumptions.
- Design and implement processes to improve the automation and monitoring of experience against expectation - this includes suggesting and implementing improvements to the current experience investigation process.
- Develop and manage processes that ensure integrity and accuracy of input data and analytical systems and document these processes.
- Develop new tools and techniques to create and fulfil user demand for customer and scheme-level claim analytics.
- Implement and operate tools (including R) to support the above activities.
- Understand the underlying drivers of the business and provide insights to interpret TALs results.
Qualifications :
- Tertiary degree in actuarial statistics mathematics economics econometrics or equivalent
- Strong research analytical and modelling experience
- Practical experience in data modelling data mining and data manipulation
- Experience using SQL and R and an aptitude for coding
- Sound understanding of risk products and the Australian life insurance industry
- Good communication and data visualisation skills
- Familiarity with Prophet application
- Experience in performing experience investigations for disability income term TPD and critical illness products
