Job Summary

Role Overview 

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Application Support / Developer to join our team. This hybrid role combines hands-on application support with ongoing development work ensuring our systems remain stable efficient and continuously improved. The ideal candidate will be comfortable troubleshooting complex issues collaborating with cross functional teams and contributing to the enhancement of existing applications. 

Key Responsibilities 

Application Support 

  • Provide 2nd/3rdline support for business critical applications. 

  • Investigate diagnose and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs. 

  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify potential issues. 

  • Manage service requests problem tickets and change requests. 

  • Liaise with vendors internal teams and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution. 

  • Maintain documentation knowledge bases and support guides. 

Development & Enhancement 

  • Develop maintain and enhance existing applications using approved technologies. 

  • Write clean efficient and well documented code. 

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices. 

  • Assist in the design and implementation of new features and system integrations. 

  • Support release cycles deployments and environment management. 

  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve operational workflows. 

Skills & Experience 

Essential 

  • Strong experience in application support or a similar technical support role. 

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. C# Java NET). 

  • Experience with SQL and relational databases. 

  • Understanding of APIs web services and integration patterns. 

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident Problem Change Management). 

  • Ability to analyse logs debug issues and trace application behaviour. 

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer focused mindset. 

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. 

  • knowledge of AI technologies

Desirable 

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure AWS GCP). 

  • Exposure to containerisation (Docker Kubernetes). 

  • Background in Agile/Scrum environments. 

  • Scripting experience (PowerShell Bash Python).

  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities. 

  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to learn. 

  • Self-motivated organised and able to work independently.
