For our team in Nijmegen we are looking for an enthusiastic Calibration Engineer. The Calibration Engineer is responsible for ensuring a robust and compliant calibration system across all site assets. The role safeguards the accuracy and reliability of equipment and measurement systems that are critical to the manufacturing and testing of medical and other addition the Calibration Engineer supports maintenance troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure operational excellence and audit readiness.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Calibration Management
- Ensure all equipment and measuring instruments are calibrated in a timely compliant and efficient manner in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain the master calibration schedule minimizing impact on daily operations.
- Coordinate and prioritize calibration work orders ensuring accurate and timely execution and documentation by internal teams or external vendors.
- Review calibration results determine equipment status and ensure proper labeling and segregation of non-conforming or overdue instruments.
- Maintain accurate and compliant calibration records in the CMMS system.
- Support calibration and qualification of new equipment and ensure correct implementation within the calibration system.
Calibration System Ownership & Improvement
- Maintain and update local calibration procedures and templates in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze calibration data to define and optimize calibration intervals ensuring a reliable and effective system.
- Develop in-house calibration capabilities and contribute to new method development where applicable.
- Participate in projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to calibration and engineering processes.
- Manage spare parts inventory for calibration instruments and ensure readiness for audits at all times.
Technical Support & Compliance
- Support preventive maintenance activities to ensure reliable equipment performance and uninterrupted production.
- Contribute to structured problem solving including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Raise and support non-conformances related to calibration activities in line with local procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with GMP safety environmental and company policies maintaining an inspection-ready state.
The Calibration Engineer collaborates closely with Engineering Manufacturing Operations Quality and Facilities to ensure equipment performance compliance and continuous improvement across the site.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in engineering preferred Mechanical Electrical Electromechanical Electronics Metrology Instrumentalist majors preferred and 4 to 6 years of experience in related fields preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in calibration. Knowledge of calibration and metrology required.
- 3-5 years experience in the Medical Device and/or pharmaceutical industry or medical field. Knowledge of GMP/ ISO 13485 preferred.
- Fluency in English spoken and written in English required.
- Fluency in Dutch both spoken and written is mandatory.
- Knowledge of information systems including but not limited to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Maximo Quality Systems & Documentation Control Systems is preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to build strong working partnerships trust and credibility at all levels
