Dredging and Fluid Management , Operator

CEDA is looking for Dredge and Fluid Management Operators to work at our Fort McMurray AB location on Suncor Fort Hills site. This is a seasonal contract until the end of October.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performing a wide variety of jobs using basic construction skills and/or operating some power equipment.
• Cleaning preparation and maintenance of construction equipment or components.
• Participating in daily tool box talk meetings weekly safety meetings Safety tours & CEDAs ICE card program.
• Required to operate and maintain deposition areas plant facilities tank farm location screen tanks & manage sump levels.
• Required to manipulate valves Rig In/Out diesel pumps Operation of Dredges & Diesel /Electric pumps skid steer etc.
• Perform other activities to assist with process and machine operators.
• Maintain Cleanliness of equipment & Housekeeping in immediate work areas.
• May be required to assist with minor repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to travel and flexibility in scheduling in required.

Role Specifications:

• Prior experience with pumps centrifuge systems or dredging and dewatering
• Valid Class 5 licence with a clean abstract
• Valid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional or BSO)
• Valid Pleasure Craft operator card is desirable
• Marine Emergency Duties (A1 or A3) licence is an asset
• Small Vessel Operator (SVOP) training is an asset
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment alcohol and drug test;
• Able to work in confined space or at heights with the use of fall restraint equipment is an asset
• Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment (N-95 Dust Mask / North Half mask)

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
