Commercial Manager Major Projects

Someone who understands how projects are built how contracts behave under pressure and how to protect value while enabling teams to succeed. • Lead the Commercial Team and set the commercial strategy for a major project.
• Manage Change Orders endtoend producing rigorous evidencebased commercial cases for entitlement pricing and claims.
• Chair or participate in risk trend and change control forums.
• Lead claim management and dispute resolution with clarity and confidence.
• Identify and execute strategies that enhance project profitability.
• Ensure contract and procedural compliance across all commercial activities.
• Advise on contract negotiations and commercial positioning.
• Provide proactive commercial guidance to project leadership engineering construction and procurement.
• Work closely with Construction Managers Superintendents Safety Quality and Project Controls to assess design changes and constructability impacts.
• Support executivelevel reporting and commercial presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Travel to the remote project site in Ontario for approximately one week per month (expenses reimbursed).

Qualifications :

MustHave Requirements

These are nonnegotiable and required for success in the role.

• 8 years of direct experience in a project role with a midsize to large general contractor
• Commercial/Contract management experience in a complex project environment
• Strong understanding of complex contracts
• Proficiency in cost estimation forecasting scheduling risk management and reporting
• Proficient in contract management and negotiation
• Solid understanding of construction trades safety and construction techniques
• Knowledge of construction industry trends and regulations
• University degree in a constructionrelated field or equivalent experience
• Major project experience on projects valued at $1B
• Ability to travel frequently to local and offsite project locations supported by a valid drivers licence
• Ability to meet federal security clearance requirements for work on a nuclear project including three consecutive years of verifiable residency in Canada or another country recognized under the projects security framework
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to achieve results through collaboration
• Strong mentorship and coaching capability
• High level of selfawareness an entrepreneurial mindset and established personal values
• Ability to thrive in a highly regulated technically complex project environment

Strong Assets

These significantly strengthen a candidates profile and are highly preferred.

• Experience working on nuclear industrial or other highly regulated major projects
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex project governance and compliance environments
• Experience leading teams or acting as a senior commercial or project lead on largescale infrastructure projects

Compensation Transparency

Expected salary band for this role is (depending on experience):

$160000 to upwards of $180000

The base salary range for this role is listed above and may vary based on your experience.
