Bellows Free Academy Fairfax seeks a dynamic reflective and student-centered educator to serve as a High School Global Citizenship Teacher for a one-year appointment. The successful candidate will teach a range of courses within the Global Citizenship program and collaborate with colleagues to support a proficiency-based learning system. This educator will foster critical thinking civic engagement cross-cultural understanding and global awareness in alignment with the schools mission and Responsibilities:Instruction & CurriculumTeach a variety of high school courses related to Global Citizenship (e.g. global studies civics human rights sustainability cultural studies contemporary global issues).Design and deliver engaging inquiry-driven and culturally responsive interdisciplinary connections and real-world learning current global events and diverse perspectives into the -Based Learning:Design assessments aligned to clearly defined learning targets and proficiency timely actionable feedback that supports student growth toward formative and summative assessment practices to monitor and communicate student accurate records of student learning in alignment with the schools proficiency-based grading students in reflecting on their learning and setting goals for Support & Engagement:Build strong supportive relationships with instruction to meet diverse learning inclusive classroom environments that honor diverse identities perspectives and civic engagement service learning and student & Professional Responsibilities:Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design calibration of proficiency standards and interdisciplinary in faculty meetings professional development and school effectively with families regarding student progress and positively to the broader school community.
