The team

Within Payment & Settlement Services we are looking for a new Chapter Lead Architect. You will be joining an experienced team of 30 people that work together with Business and Technology colleagues to realize our goals that drive our vision. The team is based in Amsterdam and works to further develop INGs global services. This position will be focussed on Financial Messaging Order Management and Open Banking.

Roles and responsibilities

As Chapter Lead Architect you:

  • Develop a strategic architecture plan ensuring that features are prioritized appropriately estimates are reliable benefits can be realized and design activities are proactively monitored and tracked to meet planned timeframes and the overall architecture plan.
  • Build a strong-identity medium-sized architecture team that applies its diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
  • Manage and report on the performance of the team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.
  • Motivate and support the growth of all team members using equitable approaches to performance management and development that may be differentiated to support every employees unique needs and preferences bring out their best and meet business needs.
  • Develop people to meet both their career goals and the organizations goals. For example emphasizes the importance of learning urges people to build new skills and provides opportunities for them to develop their careers. Provides useful real-time coaching development activities and stretch assignments.
  • Communicate the actions needed to implement the functions strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organizations mission vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
  • Apply expertise to act as the organizational authority on motivating all employees to learn grow and develop so that they can obtain the knowledge and experience they need to help the organization reach its goals.

  • You have at least 5 years of experience as an architect.
  • Have experience in highly regulated environments (e.g. financial institutions).
  • Excellent communication skills capable of conveying complex technical topics to various audiences.
  • Ability to develop strong and collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders.
  • You improve yourself constantly; and you challenge improve and train others continuously.
  • A bachelors or masters degree in computer science Information Systems Business Administration or related field / equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of conveying complex technical topics to various audiences.
  • Ability to develop strong and collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders.
  • Knowledge of and experience with IT architecture methodologies processes (e.g. TOGAF) service management processes and an agile work environment.
