A thriving and community-focused secondary academy in Reading is seeking a reliable and organised Lettings Assistant to support the smooth running of our out-of-hours lettings programme. This is an excellent opportunity for someone practical customer-focused and flexible who enjoys working in a busy school environment beyond the traditional school day.

As part of a growing multi-academy trust our facilities are regularly used by local clubs sports groups and community organisations. The Lettings Assistant plays a key role in ensuring these activities run safely efficiently and professionally.


About the Role

Working under the direction of the Premises Manager and School Business Manager you will support the coordination and supervision of all lettings outside normal school hours. You will be responsible for preparing facilities welcoming hirers ensuring safeguarding and health & safety compliance and securing the site at the end of each session.

This role typically involves evening and weekend working with some flexibility required during school holidays.


Main Duties

  • Open and close the site for evening and weekend lettings.

  • Prepare rooms sports facilities and equipment in line with booking requirements.

  • Act as the on-site point of contact for external hirers.

  • Monitor activities to ensure compliance with safeguarding health & safety and site rules.

  • Carry out basic checks of facilities before and after use reporting any issues promptly.

  • Ensure the site is left secure clean and ready for the next school day.

  • Support emergency procedures where required.


What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a facilities customer service or site-based role (education experience desirable but not essential).

  • Good understanding of health & safety and site security procedures.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive dependable and flexible approach to work.

  • Ability to work independently and respond calmly to unexpected situations.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.
