Job Summary

Job Role: Librarian

Location: Sarjapura Bangalore

Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library including circulation shelving and inventory management.
Develop and maintain the library collection by selecting acquiring and cataloging new materials following the schools curriculum and educational objectives.
Assist students and faculty in locating and accessing information resources both print and digital to support research and coursework.
Provide guidance and instruction to students in library skills information literacy and research methods.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum supporting project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction.
Promote reading and literacy initiatives through book displays author visits and other engaging activities to encourage a lifelong love of learning.
Stay current with trends in library science educational technology and childrens literature to enhance library services and programs.
Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment in the library that fosters intellectual curiosity critical thinking and respect for diverse perspectives.
Develop and implement library policies and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the library.
Participate in professional development activities and professional organizations to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in librarianship.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Library Science Information Science or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
Previous experience working in a school library or educational setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of library cataloging systems classification schemes and information retrieval tools.
Familiarity with educational technology tools and digital resources for libraries.
