The role is a combination of Permanent Part-Time (0.6fte) & Temporary Part Time (0.2fte)

As a Pastoral Care Associate you will provide compassionate support attending to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families. This is done in collaboration with the pastoral care team the palliative care multi-disciplinary clinical and outreach teams and the various faith traditions present in the local health district.

The preferred applicant must have previous experience as a Pastoral Care Practitioner.

The successful applicant must be able to work Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday and participate on a rotating weekend / Public Holiday we work alone on a weekend and Public Holiday - an experienced Pastoral Care Associate is required.

Selection criteria

  • Provide compassionate sensitive and skilled pastoral care to patients families and carers especially in times of crisis transition and at the end of life.
  • Ensure information about Pastoral Care Services is provided to patients families/carers and staff.
  • Understand the diversity and complexity of spiritual needs within the patient population and respond appropriately.
  • Enact best practice regarding critical areas such as: spiritual care; emotional support grief and loss; end of life care; ethics.
  • Ensure all clinical practice reflects professional standards.
  • Works with other disciplines to ensure spiritual assessments are included in patient care plans.

Employment details

  • The role is a combination of Permanent Part-Time (0.6fte) and Temporary Part Time (0.2fte)
  • Salary Classification: Counsellor Level 2 Yr 1- 4.
  • Remuneration: $47.98 - $54.94 per hour superannuation annual leave loading salary packaging options.
