About the role

We are seeking a Therapeutic Youth Support Worker to join our Targeted Care Packages (TCP) program in Geelong. This role supports young people who have transitioned out of residential care or are at risk of entering it by providing personalised flexible support in home-based kinship or independent living arrangements.

Youll work to support each young persons emotional wellbeing daily routines and personal development. Whether its attending appointments engaging in activities or helping build life skills youll play a vital role in their journey. Youll also maintain clear communication and records and work therapeutically with families and carers to help young people achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • Valid and Current Drivers Licence
  • Valid and Current Workers with Childrens Check
  • Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screeners Check
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check
  • A Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or a relevant qualification accompanied by the relevant skill set.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families.

Whilst previous experience working with Young People is preferred we encourage individuals without prior experience who are passionate about making a difference in Young Peoples lives to apply.
