For Calix ETS team we are recruiting an engineering intern to participate in projects of Software Development and Operation.
Calix ETS (Engineering Tools and Service) team provides services for internal software development including the management and maintenance of various development and configuration management tools such as Git Bamboo Jira Bitbucket as well as the development of compilation scripts and the operation and maintenance of virtual machines (VMware/Docker etc.)
Internship Duration
- The internship can start immediately upon successful interview
- Work 3-5 days per week
- The internship period is 6 months or longer
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to set up projects in IDEs such as VSCode and Eclipse.
- Integrate and maintain engineering tools including Git Bitbucket and Bamboo.
- Implement code scanning tools within IDEs to perform linting and security checks.
- Work with the Software Configuration Management (SCM) team to optimize build systems and support the setup of a load-balanced build farm.
- Assist in basic Linux server operations including troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
- Support deployment of development and testing environments and contribute to continuous integration improvements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Expected graduation in 2026 or 2027 with a Bachelors or Masters degree.
- Major in Computer Science Software Engineering or related fields.
- Available to work 35 days per week for at least 6 months.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line operations.
- Proficiency in C programming and Shell scripting.
- Understanding of software compilation processes and related tools.
- Strong written communication skills for documentation and reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Linux server administration (e.g. service deployment log analysis performance tuning).
- Knowledge of Git version control and branching strategies.
- Familiarity with Docker container technology and its applications.
