The Principal Facilities Technician will serve as the right hand to the Facilities Manager acting as a senior deputy and decision-maker on-site. Your leadership will directly impact uptime safety and operational efficiency across our data center. You will collaborate with engineering security and vendor teams to deliver high-performance outcomes in a fast-paced mission-critical setting.

What to Expect:


In this role you will:

  • Lead and coordinate a team of technicians in executing preventive and reactive maintenance across electrical mechanical and security systems
  • Function as a delegate for the Facilities Manager making on-site decisions distributing work and representing the team in meetings
  • Oversee technical safety compliance and ensure adherence to operational standards
  • Manage vendor relationships and project implementation including upgrades and repairs
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports analyze consumption data and maintain documentation
  • Drive process improvements and co-lead Facilities Excellence initiatives
  • Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues and provide mentorship to junior staff

What will make you successful:


We are seeking professionals with:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in facilities maintenance with proven team leadership
  • Strong electrical background ideally with data center experience
  • Hands-on expertise with UPS systems generators switchgear and mechanical systems (chillers HVAC downflow units)
  • Familiarity with physical security systems (access control CCTV intrusion detection)
  • Experience in project management and vendor coordination
  • Ability to lead with confidence communicate effectively and make decisions under pressure

The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position in Virginia is $90269.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to $168311.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. Our compensation packages include a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity for all employees contingent on personal and company performance. Our generous benefits program includes medical dental vision and life insurance with no premium costs for our employees and their families and retirement plan plus matching 401k.
