Steps away from the main public transit station What we offer:Highly competitive compensation package which includes base salary bonus benefits and career advancement opportunities! *Eligibility for benefits is dependent on the terms of employmentThe Opportunity:The Residential Mortgage Funder is responsible for instructing advancing and closing mortgage Third-party Residential Underwriting Division as a Division of First National Financial provides underwriting expertise and services on behalf of other financial institutions to the Canadian Mortgage Broker with law society for entitlement of solicitorCheck information to ensure accuracy i.e. correct lender CMHC/GE approvalContact solicitor to confirm that he/she is acting on mortgagors behalfPrepare and send applicable instructional package to solicitor along with relevant documentsFollow up with solicitor to obtain advance requestOrganize mortgage file in correct orderCheck the request for funds from the solicitorSend the mortgage advance sheet to the accounting departmentSend the solicitor a list of outstanding conditions mortgage commitment and mortgage advance breakdownContact solicitor when funds are readyFollow up with solicitor prior to closingContact solicitor to advise that funds can be releasedEnsure that all conditions have been met all documentation has been received and that file is complete on the day of closingClose files in the system and send to accounting departmentReview solicitor mortgage documentation to ensure it corresponds to the terms of the commitment and is in compliance with established regulatory and company guidelines and policiesEscalate any documentation issues to the Mortgage Underwriter and/or Manager for reviewCoordinate with mortgage accounting for the release of mortgage funds on a timely basisRespond to all inquiries within the established turnaround timesAdhere to policy/procedures to ensure AML and Quality Assurance requirements are metThe Requirements Needed: Strong communication skills verbal and writtenProven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-taskDemonstrated ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periodsPost-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferredCompetency in MS Office; capacity to learn new technologies/systemsCompletion of Mortgage Agent Course and/or BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) License an asset In accordance with the BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) if a successful candidate is not already licensed upon starting with First National they will be registered for the applicable educational courses and upon successful completion of the exam First National will register them with BCFSA to complete the licensing join First NationalBright open concept office environment Large kitchens with a coffee and latte maker to enjoy at no costSupportive teamwork focused environment Collaborative entrepreneurial spirit Opportunities to give back to the communities and work through events focused on a variety of charities Ongoing social events throughout the year Extensive training programs to set our employees up for success First National is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion regardless of race color religion national origin age gender identity physical or mental disability sexual orientation or any other category protected by National supports requests for accommodation from applicants with disabilities; please contact Human Resources at Intelligence is not used in our recruitment or hiring process for this would like to thank all applications for their interest but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. #FNUWBC
