POSITION SUMMARY:The Peri-Anesthesia Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating nursing care of patients undergoing surgical intervention pain injections and diagnostic procedures. The Peri-Anesthesia RN provides assessment patient surveillance and timely administration of physicians orders to prepare patients for procedures. The Peri-Anesthesia RN provides continuous patient surveillance for early recognition and immediate emergency treatment of any medical or surgical complication that may arise. The Peri-Anesthesia RN determines that the patient is suitable for discharge; and provides patients and family members with an additional opportunity for education and review of the post op instructions. The Peri-Anesthesia RN also calls the patient on the first working post op day to check on post op & EXPERIENCE:A graduation certificate from an accredited school of nursing (RN program) required Current license to practice nursing in Mississippi required ACLS PALS and BLS certifications requiredExperience in peri-anesthesia or critical care area preferredCertificate of course completion in Moderate Sedation requiredQUALIFICATIONS:Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretionHighly organized and detail oriented; particularly in regard to time management Ability to prioritize key objectives while performing daily tasks as well as the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal negotiation and conflict resolution skillsComputer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to effectively utilize applicable electronic systems and programsWORK SCHEDULE:PRN
