Job Details
ChristianaCare is currently seeking an Information Security Intern who will be responsible for assisting the Information Security with many components of the institutions information security program. This internship position will provide the individual with hands on experience in the discipline of cybersecurity and exposure to its various domains. The Intern will be exposed to both soft and technical skills necessary to success in the workforce.
Duration: Summer 2026 (8 weeks at 40 hours/week) tentative start June 8
Learning Objectives:
- Help analysts conduct access governance audits.
- Run test to verify that secure controls on systems are working correctly.
- Spend time reading documentation on information security controls.
- Review and update documentation for policies procedures standards and guidelines.
- Research and evaluate technologies by the information security team.
- Assistance with the deployment and upkeep of the information security departments website content.
- Provide first level compliance monitoring and investigations.
- Assist with forensics analysis and fact gathering.
- Assist with vulnerability assessments for specific applications services networks and servers as required.
- Assist with applications/tools including but not limited to SIEM IPS Netflow e-mail gateway protection and DLP tools.
- Perform compliance audits against institutionally accepted security controls.
- Record and track IT security incidents including but not limited to compromised accounts e-mail threats and abuse reports from various sources.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Enrolled in Associate/Bachelor/Masters degree programs in healthcare design technology or field related to one or more of the positions above.
- Any innovative/technology experience or hobbies is a plus.
Hourly Pay Rate: $20
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCares good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills relevant experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
