The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role for candidates living within commutable distance to Bridgwater or Bristol with relocation support available.
You will provide mechanical engineering expertise to support delivery of complex systems across major nuclear new build programmes. Your future team depends on you to ensure technical alignment constructability and quality across mechanical scopes.
Coordinate design activities for mechanical equipment and plant layout
Produce and revise technical specifications for new equipment scopes
Manage technical queries changes and non-conformances within scope
Interface with piping HVAC civil and wider engineering teams
Review and approve contractor deliverables and design submissions
Maintain and update 3D models and technical documentation
Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and quality standards
Track engineering risks and coordinate mitigation actions
Qualifications :
Skills and Qualifications
Nuclear experience is not essential but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.
We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further we would strongly encourage you to apply.
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Experience with mechanical equipment such as valves piping HVAC rotating and static equipment
Proficiency in 3D design software including Navisworks and 3DCAD tools
Background within highly regulated or safety critical industrial sectors
Strong understanding of technical reports and engineering design cycles
Knowledge of industrial standards and mechanical interface management
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers
Proven experience resolving technical queries and engineering challenges
