Job Summary
The Mobile Engineering Manager is responsible for leading mobile engineering teams in the design development and delivery of high-quality mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms. This leadership role combines technical expertise with people management to ensure scalable architecture strong engineering practices and timely product delivery aligned with business goals.
The position operates fully remotely and requires strong technical leadership collaboration across cross-functional teams and the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mentor and manage a team of mobile engineers developing iOS and Android applications

Define technical strategy architecture and best practices for mobile development

Collaborate with product design and backend engineering teams to deliver high-quality mobile features

Oversee project planning sprint execution and engineering delivery timelines

Review code guide architecture decisions and maintain coding standards

Drive performance optimization scalability and security improvements for mobile applications

Manage team performance career development and hiring efforts

Ensure consistent engineering processes testing strategies and CI/CD deployment practices

Monitor mobile application performance metrics and drive continuous improvement

Communicate technical progress risks and priorities to leadership
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field
-
710 years of software engineering experience including 3 years in engineering leadership or people management
-
Strong expertise in mobile development (Swift/Objective-C for iOS and/or Kotlin/Java for Android)

Experience delivering production-grade mobile applications at scale

Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns APIs and performance optimization

Experience with Agile development methodologies

Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to lead distributed teams effectively in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cross-platform frameworks (React Native Flutter or similar)

Experience with cloud-based backend services and mobile integrations

Familiarity with mobile security best practices and app store deployment processes

Prior experience in SaaS consumer apps fintech or enterprise mobile platforms

Experience scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments
Compensation

Annual Salary Range: $160000 $210000 USD based on experience leadership scope and technical expertise
