About the role

The Quality Engineering Chapter Lead Practices & People plays a pivotal leadership role within one of the largest Engineering chapters (300 professionals). The position partners closely with the Head of Chapter fellow Chapter Leads and Domain Leadership to shape and continuously enhance the Chapter across three core dimensions: community and belonging engineering quality and capability development.

The role combines strategic influence with people leadership responsibilities including line management where applicable ensuring consistent standards strong engagement and the ongoing growth of skills and practices across the Chapter.

Responsibilities

• Vision and Strategy: Shapes and delivers the Chapters strategic and operational roadmap in line with Kingfisher Technology goals
• People Allocation: Leads the people strategy ensuring effective resourcing and strong collaborative stakeholder relationships
• Capability: Drives capability growth through re/upskilling and recruitment fostering a culture of development and owning People Playbooks and leadership training.
• Technical Standards: Elevates technical quality and practices ensuring standards evolve with industry best practice
• Recruitment: Leads talent acquisition building strong partnerships to meet Chapter and business needs.
• Coach and Advisor: Acts as a senior coach guiding teams and neighbouring Chapters in applying best practice and leadership behaviours.
• Relationship Management: Builds trusted collaborative relationships across engineering and beyond to support effective change.
• Performance Management: Supports line managers with performance processes goals and objectives.
• Talent Management: Enables career development and succession planning ensuring people can realise their full potential.

• Deep experience in quality engineering.
• Proven leadership of large multi-geo multi-sourced quality engineering functions.
• Broad understanding of IT markets trends and emerging technologies relevant to retail.
• Strong track record driving change in complex fast-moving environments.
• Skilled in managing third-party vendor partners.
• Strong cross-functional awareness and stakeholder influence.
• Experience in large-scale workforce planning.
• Significant experience delivering global talent acquisition strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Strong communication collaboration and leadership capability.
• Effective creative problem-solver and decision-maker.
• Skilled at navigating ambiguity to reach clear simple solutions.
