About the Role

The Head of Geography will provide strategic and operational leadership for the department ensuring high-quality teaching strong progress and an engaging curriculum that promotes curiosity about the world.

You will work closely with senior leaders to develop teaching practice raise attainment and contribute to whole-school priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and line manage the Geography department promoting high expectations and consistent practice.

• Design and implement a broad ambitious and inclusive curriculum.

• Monitor pupil progress and use data to drive improvement.

• Develop staff through coaching mentoring and performance management.

• Promote enrichment opportunities such as fieldwork and cross-curricular learning.

• Contribute to school self-evaluation and development planning.

What Were Looking For

• A degree in Geography or a closely related subject.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• A track record of strong classroom practice and positive pupil outcomes.

• Experience or readiness to lead motivate and develop colleagues.

• Commitment to inclusion safeguarding and raising aspirations.

• Strong organisational and communication skills.
