A forward-thinking secondary school in Taunton is seeking to appoint an ambitious and knowledgeable English Teacher to join a committed department and drive excellent outcomes for pupils across Key Stages 35.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate about literature language and helping young people develop confidence in reading writing and communication.
About the Role
The English Teacher will deliver high-quality lessons that inspire curiosity critical thinking and creativity. You will work alongside experienced colleagues within a collaborative department contributing to curriculum development and whole-school priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Teach English across KS3KS5 with potential for examination classes.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
Monitor pupil progress and use assessment to inform teaching.
Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of schemes of work.
Support enrichment opportunities such as reading initiatives theatre visits and clubs.
Uphold high expectations for behaviour achievement and presentation.
What Were Looking For
A degree in English or a closely related subject.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Evidence of strong classroom practice and positive pupil outcomes.
Commitment to inclusion safeguarding and raising aspirations.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
