A respected independent school in Southwark is seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to lead the maintenance safety and operational management of the school estate. This is a key role in ensuring that pupils staff and visitors benefit from a safe secure and well-presented environment.
About the Role
The Premises Manager will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of buildings grounds and site services. Working closely with senior leadership the postholder will oversee maintenance programmes contractor management compliance and health & safety across the campus.
You will lead and support the premises team while helping the school maintain high standards expected within an independent setting.
What Youll Be Doing
Managing the operation maintenance and development of school buildings and grounds.
Leading and supervising premises staff allocating duties and monitoring performance.
Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance and small project works.
Managing contractors and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
Taking responsibility for health & safety systems risk assessments and site security.
Supporting school events lettings and out-of-hours activities.
Monitoring budgets and ensuring value for money.
What Were Looking For
Experience in estates facilities or site management ideally within education or a similar environment.
Strong knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance.
Proven ability to manage contractors and prioritise workloads.
Good leadership and communication skills.
Practical understanding of building maintenance and site operations.
Ability to respond to emergencies and work flexibly where required.
Legal right to work in the UK.
