Job Summary

Prepares hydraulic calculations for stormwater management system designs and watershed and drainage system modeling for land development projects. Reviews project specifications/challenges and determines requirements i.e. research for design due diligence plans preparation calculations preparation evaluation of field conditions reports preparation design changes & utilization of specialized design software. Conducts analysis of engineering reports plans and calculations using tools and specialized software and applying engineering knowledge necessary to conduct said evaluations. Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software for plans preparation. Prepares submittal forms applications and packages for application of engineering designs to relevant local jurisdictions. Performs research and applies engineering knowledge to review and interpret relevant local jurisdiction construction codes and design manuals. Prepares reports exhibits and summary tables detailing calculation results. Reviews and interprets project surveys to obtain and analyze existing topographic details and site conditions. Drafts detailed dimensional construction drawings topographic profiles and related maps and specifications such as roadway plans flood control and drainage design as needed to construct new civil commercial and residential projects. Plots maps and plans showing profiles and cross-sections indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings retaining walls pipes and stormwater ponds. Calculates dimensions roadway profiles drainage conveyance capacities and fill and excavation dirt quantities. Determines necessary easements and right-of-way widths for drainage structures. Inspects and evaluates completed drainage systems to determines the installation conforms with plans.
