Service Engineer Benelux Region
Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
Location: Almere The Netherlands (TBD)
Job Purpose:
As a Service Engineer you will act as the key link between the manufacturer and dealers ensuring high-quality service and technical support. You will coordinate service training assist in troubleshooting and support warranty processing. Your role involves frequent visits to dealers and customers collaboration with service technicians and close cooperation with international teams. The position requires regular travel within the Benelux region (The Netherlands Belgium and Luxembourg) and occasionally to other locations such as Poland or China.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Perform diagnostics repairs and preventive maintenance on construction and industrial equipment (e.g. excavators loaders telehandlers forklifts bulldozers motor graders skid steer loaders rollers).
- Troubleshoot mechanical hydraulic electrical and electronic system issues using manufacturer diagnostic tools and software.
- Provide on-site or remote technical support to minimize equipment downtime.
- Apply software or firmware updates as required.
2. Field Service & Customer Support- Conduct scheduled service visits inspections and emergency repairs at customer sites.
- Advise customers on proper equipment operation maintenance schedules and spare parts management.
- Document service reports including root cause analyses and corrective actions.
3. Warranty & Spare Parts Coordination- Validate warranty claims and liaise with manufacturers for approvals.
- Recommend appropriate spare parts and assist in parts ordering and logistics.
- Report quality issues in internal systems for continuous improvement.
4. Training & Knowledge Transfer- Train customers and operators in safe equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Stay up-to-date with new product technologies service manuals and procedures.
- Support new product launches testing and customer demonstrations.
5. Compliance & Safety- Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and local safety regulations during maintenance and repairs.
Requirements:- Fluent in English and Dutch (and French as a plus)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the construction or industrial machinery industry.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering Construction Machinery or a related field.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Customer-focused with the ability to respond quickly to service needs.
