C-Laboratory Technician

Job Summary

This entry-level position is responsible for performing routine chemical and physical analyses under supervision accurately documenting results and supporting quality and production activities in accordance with established procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine QC analyses on raw materials in-process samples finished products and waste samples following approved procedures.
• Perform basic calculations using a calculator.
• Accurately record analytical results and enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Notify supervision or senior technicians of out-of-specification or abnormal results.
• Prepare basic reagents and standards as instructed.
• Perform routine instrument checks and cleaning.
• Maintain retain samples and quality documentation.
• Assist senior technicians with special or non-routine sample analyses.
• Properly handle and dispose of chemical waste in compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
• Work assigned rotating schedules (including 4-on / 4-off) and provide coverage as required.
• Follow all EHS quality and site safety rules and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree in Chemistry or related field or equivalent laboratory/manufacturing experience is preferred.
• 02 years of laboratory or manufacturing experience.

Physical Requirements and Environment:

• Must be able to lift push pull and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
• Requires frequent walking standing climbing stairs/ladders bending reaching and kneeling
• Requires the ability to distinguish colors sounds and alarms critical to safe plant operations.
• Prolonged periods of sitting while working on a computer and laboratory instrumentation.
• Frequent reaching above shoulder height and below the waist to handle materials equipment and documentation.
• Must be able to wear full PPE including hard hats safety glasses hearing protection gloves flame-resistant clothing and respiratory protection as required.
• Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions including hot cold humid noisy or dusty environments.
• Must be physically able to respond to emergencies including rapid evacuation or assisting others.
