Short Description

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) assists with patients activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team patients and/or patients family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.

Overview

Pavilion 7 is a medical-surgical unit that has a specialty focus on both orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. This 30-bed unit features 8 beds designed for our stroke population as part of Cooper Universitys Comprehensive Stroke Center as well as 3 EMU beds for seizure monitoring. Telemetry monitoring is available in 10 of the unit beds when needed. The nursing staff provides caring individualized attention to all patients 24 hours a day 7 days a week with collaborative interdisciplinary team members.

Experience Required

0-2 years experience required.

Education Requirements

High School/GED required.

License/Certification Requirements

  • AHA Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program required.
  • Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accreditedNursingProgramrequired.
  • 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar rolerequired.
  • At least one of the above qualifications/certifications must be met for hire.
  • Communication Ability to communicate with patients visitors and coworkers required.
  • Successful phlebotomy/EKG competency must be completed during orientation required.

Special Requirements

full time nights 36 hours a week
hours: 7a-7:30p with weekend/holidays rotation
