Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Analyst to own our analytics pipeline ensuring our customers have the insights they need to run safer more efficient facilities.
The Role
As our Data Analyst you will be the primary architect of the customer-facing insights that make Allera indispensable. You will own the full lifecycle of dashboard developmentfrom writing the underlying SQL to designing intuitive visualizations in Metabase.
This role sits at the intersection of Customer Success and Engineering. You wont just be crunching numbers; you will be translating digital form submissions into a narrative of operational excellence. Success in this role is defined by speed accuracy and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Analytics Engineering: Write optimize and maintain complex SQL queries to transform raw unstructured operational data into clean reliable datasets.
- Dashboard Architecture: Build and iterate on high-impact visualizations in Metabase that surface critical food safety and quality insights.
- Rapid Prototyping: Respond to customer and internal feedback with agility often delivering dashboard iterations within the same business day.
- Data Integrity: Audit and validate data from digital form submissions to ensure 100% accuracy in reportingthere is zero room for error in food safety compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Customer Success to automate manual reporting processes and with Engineering to improve data upstream.
- Operational Storytelling: Design reports that dont just show data but highlight so-what insights such as identifying trends in non-compliance or cost-saving opportunities.
Key Metrics & Use Cases
You will be responsible for visualizing and monitoring:
- Compliance: Sanitation checks metal detection intervals and audit readiness.
- Quality Control: Unacceptable product rates scrap costs and corrective action (CAPA) tracking.
- Feedback Loops: Customer complaint categorization and root cause analysis.
- Operational Efficiency: Cost-of-quality impact and equipment uptime tied to safety checks.
Required Qualifications
- SQL Mastery: Exceptional ability to write debug and optimize SQL queries (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Visualization Expert: 3 years of experience building dashboards that stakeholders actually use.
- Metabase Proficiency: Deep hands-on experience with Metabase (GUI and SQL modes) is highly preferred.
- Communication: Fluent English with the ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Operating Style: A bias for action. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can work independently with minimal oversight.
- Logistics: Ability to work a schedule that significantly overlaps with US Business Hours (EST/CST).
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Domain Expertise: Background in food manufacturing supply chain or Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- SaaS Experience: Understanding of how data flows through a multi-tenant SaaS application.
- Data Modeling: Familiarity with dbt or similar tools for managing data transformations.
