Job Summary
Job Description:
A Senior Accountant for Logisticsmanages daily accounting (AP/AR GL) oversees financial reporting (P&L Balance Sheet) ensures tax/GST compliance (especially for transport) reconciles accounts supports budgeting analyzes logistics costs and often supervises junior staff requiring strong ERP/Excel skills and collaboration with operations to maintain financial integrity in the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations:Manage general ledger AP/AR bank reconciliations petty cash and daily transactions.
- Reporting:Prepare financial statements (P&L Balance Sheet) and management reports including monthly/quarterly/annual closing tasks.
- Tax & Compliance:Handle GST (R1 3B 2A/2B reconciliation) TDS e-invoicing and e-way bills; ensure adherence to accounting standards.
- Logistics Cost Analysis:Track analyze and report on transportation and supply chain costs identifying trends and potential savings.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:Support budgeting forecasting and variance analysis.
- Internal Controls:Implement and monitor financial controls investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaboration:Work with operations management and external auditors.
- Team Leadership:Supervise and train junior accountants.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: years in accounting with specific logistics/transport sector experience.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in Tally ERP systems Advanced Excel accounting software (QuickBooks).
- Soft Skills:Strong analytical skills attention to detail leadership problem-solving communication.
