Job Summary
Position: Lab Assistant
Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Reports To: Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS)
Salary: $28.50/hr
Location: Lifekind Health UDS Laboratory
Summary:
The Lab Assistant supports daily UDS laboratory operations including specimen intake accurate attribution analyzer preparation support QC assistance documentation and confirmatory testing workflows. This role ensures a clean CLIA-ready environment and maintains accountability for workflow accuracy safety and communication with the CLS and APP Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive verify and log UDS specimens from six clinics.
- Maintain chain-of-custody and ensure correct patient identifiers.
- Support analyzer workflow (Beckman Coulter AU680) reagent prep and QC setup.
- Assist with aliquoting sample loading and workflow throughput.
- Prepare specimens for quantitative confirmatory testing and manage shipping documentation.
- Maintain inventory PPE logs and daily lab cleanliness.
- Follow all OSHA HIPAA CLIA and internal policies.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in biological science preferred.
- 612 months laboratory experience preferred.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
