PURPOSE:Under direct supervision the Maintenance Technician I is an entry level position and is responsible maintaining and servicing our companys fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues performing preventive maintenance and ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles. This position requires a skilled individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality workmanship. Performs duties under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensures operation of mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines motors pneumatic tools conveyor systems; following diagrams sketches operations manuals manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications; troubleshooting sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles including trucks vans and specialized equipment. Perform oil changes tire rotations brake inspections and other preventive maintenance mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Identify and troubleshoot problems efficiently to minimize downtime. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Perform repairs on engines transmissions brakes steering systems and other vehicle components. Replace faulty parts and components as needed to ensure safe and efficient operation. Conduct safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards or compliance issues. Ensure vehicles meet safety and emissions accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed including parts used labor hours and equipment condition. Complete service reports and maintenance to breakdowns and emergencies promptly. Perform on-site repairs and arrange for towing or transportation when tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues or needs for replacement. Maintain a clean and organized work to all company policies and safety regulations. Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices for fleet repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and and diagnoses and performs preventative maintenance on electric LP and diesel-powered forklifts and related material handling equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and mechanical maintenance reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing to team effort by accomplishing related results as duties may be assigned based on the business needs.
