Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Information Technology (IT) the IT Infrastructure Manager oversees the day-to-day management operation and support of the Credit Unions IT infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to Wide Area and Local Area networks server and application infrastructure virtual platforms Firewalls network security and telecommunications circuits. This role implements and maintains a secure reliable and high-performing company-wide LAN/WAN network and server infrastructure in alignment with IT strategy standards and priorities established by the AVP of IT.
This position will be fully onsite at our offices in Austin TX with on-call responsibilities for any systems emergencies outages and network issues as needed.
In this role with UHCU you will get to:
Provide direction and leadership to the IT network and systems administrator staff. Train and coach staff through individual development plans mentoring and performance reviews. Perform necessary personnel actions such as interviewing hiring transferring promotions disciplinary actions and terminations in consultation with management.
Cultivate a service-oriented team culture while building and leading a high-performance team that proactively seeks opportunities to grow and improve.
Facilitate team meetings to foster collaboration and strong communication within the team. Ensure staff receives cross training to ensure business continuity.
Serve as a subject matter expert and primary point of escalation for IT staff on Tier 2 issues. Resolve complex technical issues and provide guidance to staff to support timely and effective resolution.
Oversee the quality accuracy and completion of work performed by the team and escalate issues to the AVP of IT as appropriate. Ensure department meets Service Level Agreement expectations (SLAs). Periodically review and update SLAs for staff in order to meet organizational needs.
Coordinate after-hours upgrades in partnership with AVP of IT.
Oversee the design configuration installation security maintenance and support for Information Technology infrastructure including 10 campus environment multiple internet connections and enterprise data centers over 150 routers switches and firewalls and guest WIFI network at all locations.
Plan design maintain and upgrade physical and virtual servers and related infrastructure across the Credit Union in conjunction with the AVP of IT in an enterprise environment with 6 virtual hosts and over 200 virtual servers. Ensure upgrades and patching on applicable systems are completed properly on an on-going basis.
Maintain acceptable uptimes on Credit Union systems and meet acceptable SLAs regarding response time to issues and/or outages.
Ensure comprehensive IT support and network monitoring performance tuning and advanced network troubleshooting and testing across multiple secure networks.
Adhere to operational and security frameworks to ensure Credit Union infrastructure is compliant with applicable state federal and private rules regulations and standards.
Analyze security assessments and monitor the Credit Unions computing environment and network traffic for activities including but not limited to policy violations abnormal behaviors and intrusions.
Monitor and enhance business and network security by developing remediation and mitigation strategies. Ensure a secure network environment through MSPs vulnerability scans or penetration testing.
Regularly analyze cybersecurity reports and complete vulnerability remediation and resolution efforts across various network systems.
Collaborate with internal and external business partners regarding security-related events to ensure continuous improvement of the overall security posture of the Credit Union.
Manage the planning initiation and implementation of network and network security projects.
Partner with AVP of IT for Credit Union business projects that require IT Infrastructure changes upgrades or enhancements.
Evaluate and prepare proposals for adding new technologies and creates plans for installations and/or integration.
Build and maintain third-party vendor relationships in order to maintain organizational workflow. Prepares requests for proposals and/or quotes and complete due diligence for new vendors.
Continuously manage third-party vendor SLAs and evaluates vendor relationships performance and effectiveness.
What you will need to succeed:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science Information Technology MIS or other related field.
Minimum 4 years of demonstrated technical network and systems administration and engineering experience in an enterprise-level environment with progressive leadership responsibilities related to supporting infrastructure for business applications and managing IT infrastructure including but not limited to network on-prem and virtual server and telecommunications.
Minimum 2 years of Information Technology supervisory/leadership experience with progressive responsibility to include hiring training/coaching assigning work motivating staff and writing performance evaluations.
Demonstrated experience with Cisco networking equipment operating systems and protocols in an enterprise environment.
Demonstrated experience successfully implementing monitoring remediating and mitigating a complex large-scale cybersecurity/Information Security program.
Working knowledge of QoS settings configurations and troubleshooting and overall traffic shaping in an enterprise-wide WAN environment.
Demonstrated experience with multiple virtual platforms including VMWare and Hyper-V as well as supporting both Windows and UNIX systems in a mostly high availability environment.
Working knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting issues with enterprise applications such as Exchange email systems SQL clusters and other various vendor provided systems.
Preferred Qualifications
4 years of demonstrated experience supporting a core processing system in a regulated industry (such as finance insurance or healthcare) with past roles showing a progression of increasing responsibilities related to networking and/or security.
3 years of management experience with responsibility for creating functional strategies and specific objectives for an Information Technology team.
Understanding of IT infrastructure and systems operations and information security in a financial institution related environment.
Demonstrated experience supervising fully remote and/or hybrid employees.
Experience maintaining a cybersecurity/Information Security program in accordance with FFIEC NCUA or NIST security regulations within a financial institution.
Cisco/Networking (CCNA CCNP Network) Microsoft (MCSE MCSA) and Security (CISSP CompTIA Security) certifications.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Demonstrated experience with Episys Quest (Symitar).
