Job Summary:The Temporary Research Support assists in research work in support of a major research project which may include duties such as gathering tracking and entering data preparing support material etc.

Additional Department Summary:The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at The University of Alabama is a seeking candidate for a Temporary Research Assistant position. This position is available to individuals with research interests in extractive metallurgy. Initial appointment is for six (6) months with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity.

Required Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or GED and some experience related to the responsibilities of the assignment(s).

Preferred Qualifications:Strong analytical skills are beneficial including but not limited to structural characterization and electrochemical techniques. Experience with data visualization and analysis software. Experience in proposal writing synthesis of complex inorganic materials structural characterization and quantitative thermodynamic and thermophysical analysis and process-driven structureproperty relationships metallurgy. Established record of peer-reviewed publications in the materials science field.
