Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of and as directed by the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. Position Details:

** No evenings no weekends no holidays no call & Day time hours **

Join our dynamic team as a Diabetic Educator at Mercy St. Louis focusing on shared medical appointments for diabetes this role you will work closely with patients to educate empower and support them on their journey towards diabetes remission. You will collaborate with the endocrinologist to implement strategies and interventions aimed at optimizing diabetes management through shared decision you will have the opportunity to assist the endocrinologist in presenting at national conferences on diabetes remission contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care a strong background in diabetes education and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

As a Diabetic Educator you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive diabetes education facilitating group appointments conducting individual consultations and monitoring patients progress. You will be a key resource for patients offering guidance on nutrition exercise medication management and lifestyle modifications. By fostering a supportive and educational environment you will inspire and motivate patients to make positive changes in their health behaviors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing care examination diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effects patient education principles to develop a self-care program instruments and common safety practices.

  • Licensure: Current valid state license.

  • Certifications: CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.

  • Skills Knowledge and Abilities: Diabetic Nurse Educator (DNE) required Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Must be able to interpret adapt and apply guidelines and policies. Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients staff and the public. Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills or the ability to learn these skills in order to access information and enter clinical data.

  • Equipment Used: Must be able to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic.
