Anticipated Work Schedule:
Full-time (Monday-Friday shifts) 40 hours per week with some nights and weekends as to be on-call isrequired.

Duties And Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- Assist perform and direct a variety of routine to complex maintenance and construction activities to include mowing trimming fertilizing aerating seeding top-dressing trash collection turf management irrigation athletic field maintenance playground maintenance trails maintenance skate park maintenance event management and support general forestry open space and horticultural assignments
- Assistand perform maintenance and construction activities as needed. May perform a variety of heavy laboring activities including the use of hand tools a wide variety of power equipment and heavy construction and maintenance equipment
- Operate heavy and light duty equipment to perform maintenance and construction tasks
- May install andmaintainconcrete work signage fences courts benches grillstablesand other park amenities
- Maybe responsible forthe inspection and assessment of playgrounds splash pads park amenities construction activities and athletic fields for safety and compliance with Park and ADA standards
- Maybe responsible forirrigation systems maintenance including programming controllers designing systems andlayoutsand fixing breaks. May have primary responsibility for all Town irrigation systems
- May review landscape or irrigation plans and prepare recommendations prior to construction;participatein pre-bid pre-construction and project progress meetings; develop punch lists and conduct extensive landscape or irrigation inspections prior to granting initial and final acceptance on landscape projects
- Oversee relatedspecial eventsto include ordering materials setting up equipment and coordinating with inside staff and outside agencies
- Maintain adequate equipment tool and material inventories as well as complete repairs prepare repair requirements and recommends corrective action
- Maintain a safe working environment to include working in traffic and congested areas working in ditches and confined spaces and all work environments
Administrative Duties
- Assistwith preparation of the annual budget for the division and monitors assigned budgets throughout the year
- Process purchase orders and invoices
- Perform data entry of information maintenance logs workordersand other data
- Maintain daily weeklymonthlyand annual records of personnel equipment and materials
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaintsin a timely manner
- Prepare necessary records and reports
Supervision Duties
- Recruit interview hire perform orientations schedule and supervise full-time and part-time/seasonal staff and volunteers
- Train and mentor staff and volunteers to include creation of training materials conducting staff meetings and providing professional development
- Manage staff performance bymaintainingstaff-related documentation completingtimelyand thorough performance evaluationscoachingandinitiatingdisciplinary action as needed
- Create and promote positive working relationships and an inclusive environment amongst staffvolunteersand participants. Facilitate conflict resolution strategies as needed
- Ensure all required staff and volunteer certifications and trainings are completed
- Submit bi-weekly payroll byestablisheddeadlines verifyaccuratetimesheetentriesandmake adjustmentsas needed
- Track andmaintainstaff and volunteer hours for budgetary purposes and ensure ACA and labor law compliance
- Work closely with and oversees the work of contractors and vendors inspect and approves work
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- AnAssociates Degreefrom an accredited college or university with major course work in parks or wildlife management forestry horticulture turfmanagementor a related field.
- Minimum offive (5) years increasingly responsible experience in parks and open space maintenance operations with at leastthree (3) years in a supervisory or lead role.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to obtain CPRAEDand First Aid certifications within three months of hire
- Ability to obtain Pesticide Applicators License within three months of hire
- Depending on assignment the following may berequired:

- Pesticide Applicators Qualified Supervisor License
- Certified Playground Safety Inspector
- Certified Pool Operator
- Certified Landscape Technician
