The Business Consultant provides consulting and training services to business owners managers professionals and prospective entrepreneurs in the St. Croix Valley counties of Polk St. Croix and Pierce.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with new and existing SBDC clients in the areas of feasibility analysis business plan writing business start-up financial projections marketing and sales operation management human resources and other business management areas
Use SBDC provided business analysis and strategy tools when appropriate
Utilize SBDC best practices when working with clients to ensure quality service and time utilization based on metric optimization
Work toward meeting established metrics set by the WISBDC State Director and UW-River Falls SBDC Center Director
Meet the reporting requirements of the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center and the Small Business Administration as required for this position
Enter client notes as required by the WI SBDC State Office in the Customer Relations Management (CRM) program in a timely manner
Deploy and lead training programs such as the Entrepreneurial Training Program to expediate client progress and create consulting efficiencies
Attend webinars and meetings as required
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree in Business or related area
Several years of successful small business experience
Knowledge and background in business and financial management practices
Effective written and verbal communication skills
