About the Facility
A large 450 bed fully accredited acute care hospital in South Florida is seeking a Nurse Manager Behavioral Health to lead daily operations of its Behavioral Health department.
The hospital is a designated Level II Trauma Center and holds multiple specialty accreditations including stroke and cancer program recognition. The organization is committed to quality outcomes advanced treatment protocols and patient-centered care.
Position Summary
The Nurse Manager Behavioral Health (RN) is responsible for overseeing daily department operations to achieve quality improvement fiscal performance productivity and patient satisfaction goals established by senior leadership.
This leader manages 24/7 departmental operations and ensures compliance with regulatory accreditation and corporate standards. The Nurse Manager collaborates closely with hospital leadership physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote safe efficient and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily Behavioral Health unit operations
Oversee staffing plans and schedule preparation
Provide input into hiring performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards and corporate policies
Monitor quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction metrics
Manage department productivity and fiscal performance
Foster collaborative relationships with physicians and hospital leadership
Guide and support staff to maintain clinical excellence and regulatory compliance
Maintain accountability for 24/7 unit/department operations
Required Qualifications
Active Florida RN license or compact licensure eligible in Florida
Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Minimum 3 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care hospital
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in one of the following roles within an acute care hospital:
Required Certifications
BLS (within 30 days of hire if not current)
ACLS (within 30 days of hire if not current)
CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (within 90 days of hire if not current)
