Role Overview

Seeking a senior Azure Databricks Architect to lead end-to-end lakehouse architecture for a retail client. This is a hands-on customer-facing leadership role responsible for solution design stakeholder engagement and technical oversight of distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead architecture design and solution discussions with business and IT stakeholders
Design scalable Azure Databricks lakehouse platforms (batch & streaming)
Define medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and data modeling standards
Architect integrations with APIs Kafka/Event Hub Power BI Synapse and ML workloads
Support cloud modernization and legacy platform migration
Ensure governance security performance and cost optimization
Review offshore deliverables and guide engineering teams
Drive CI/CD Azure DevOps monitoring and best practices

Required Skills

Strong hands-on Azure Databricks (Spark Delta Lake Unity Catalog)
ADLS Gen2 Azure Data Factory / Synapse
Kafka / Event Hub / Structured Streaming
Python SQL Spark optimization
Data warehousing and lakehouse architecture expertise
Power BI exposure preferred
ML/AI integration experience is a plus

Experience

10 years data engineering / architecture
5 years Azure data platform
3 years in Architect / Technical Lead role
Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management experience
Experience leading offshore teams
Azure/Databricks certifications preferred
