Job Summary

PHLEBOTOMIST (OFFICE)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Phlebotomist to join our office team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in specimen collection processing and maintaining accurate documentation while ensuring a high level of patient care. This role requires strong attention to detail adherence to compliance standards and effective communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specimen Collection and Processing

Provide clear instructions to patients on providing urine and blood specimens.
Perform venipuncture and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
Accurately complete requisition forms and other required documentation.
Prepare specimens and requisition forms for laboratory processing including secure packaging in biohazard bags.
Ensure timely shipping of samples to the designated laboratory and maintain supporting records/manifests.

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.
Trained and proficient in venipuncture for blood sample collection.
Minimum of one year of experience in medical assisting or phlebotomy (preferred).
Proven ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients and staff.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to handle laboratory equipment and specimen collection accurately.
Strong focus and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift and transport specimen containers as needed.
