The Emily G. Wetherbee School is seeking a Middle School ESL teacher responsible for supporting English Language Learners in core subjects with the possibility of pull-out services as necessary. The ESL teacher holds the primary responsibility for designing and implementing direct ESL instruction in order to help students access the grade level curriculum and collaborating with teachers to provide English language support in other content ideal candidate possesses a belief that all students are capable of learning and enjoys working with a strong grade level team. Experience with co-teaching and inclusion practices including collaborative planning are recommended. Teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Administer diagnostic and state mandated assessments of English Language Learners.-Evaluate determine goals for and track progress of individual English language learners and communicate with faculty students and families.-Maintain ELL records in accordance with DESE standards.-Provide direct ESL instruction to small groups of students and/or provide inclusion support for classes containing ELL students based on caseload.-Work specifically with ELL students during assigned periods of the day on helping to access general education curriculum and build ELA skills.-Support student use of additional technology-enhanced learning tools to support ELL students language acquisition.-Advise teachers on modifying/accommodating curriculum for ELL students and share best practices to ensure high quality sheltered content instruction is provided.-Participate in the Warrior S.T.R.O.N.G. schoolwide positive behavior support protocols -Participate in grade level and content vertical planning meetings -Attend student support and team meetings -Participate in curriculum night report card night(s) and building meetings
