- Position is responsible for final finishing and polishing of products.
- Read and interpret parts prints and weld symbols.
- Use hand and power tools to grind sand clean or polish products to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for final delivery of product.
- Mark defects for repair.
- Compare product with part prints schematics quality specifications/quality plans and approved samples to ensure product quality and assembly suitability.
- Verify quality of finished products by inspecting them comparing them to templates measuring their dimensions or testing them in working machinery
- Performs all work in accordance with approved procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate and document findings and work with other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
- High School diploma or general equivalency diploma
- 1 years previous metal polishing or finishing experience preferred or 1 years auto body experience.
- Strong attention to safety procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of organization accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-starter who can work independently.
