JOB SUMMARY:
Partners with assigned operational divisions to maximize the alignment of human resource capital with the business objectives. Provides guidance in employee relations issues leadership/staff development and performance management. Provides supervision coaching and development to the field human resource team s/he supervises.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides guidance and direction to senior management team of assigned areas on all matters related to employee relations to ensure fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices. Ensures legal compliance and understanding of policies and processes. Investigates employee work place situations including claims of harassment and employee performance issues.
- Supports management in ensuring a union-free environment. Supports the TSAT efforts by assisting management with communication and action planning. Works with management to identify and manage the employee impact of company decisions and changes.
- Provides advice and consultation for all team members management and front-line hourly employees on policy interpretation EAP issues employee conflict etc.
- Acts as liaison between management and core HR by assisting with programs or communicating information relating to payroll records benefits training compensation management development staffing team member services.
- Mentors and provides guidance to team members related to their career goals. Motivates staff to accomplish company goals. Builds bench strength within the operational division by identifying recruiting training and development opportunities.
- Mentors and provides guidance to the human resource field staff related to day to day decisions and their development and career goals.
- Motivates staff to accomplish hr initiatives and company goals. Builds bench strength within the by identifying training and development opportunities.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in Human Resource Psychology or Management required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 7-10 years Human Resources experience required with 3-5 years management experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
