Job Summary
Lets Start with the role
We are looking for an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator with a deep understanding of MongoDB Atlas and Ops Manager. This role is focused on optimizing securing and scaling our MongoDB environments for high availability and performance. We require an individual with experience of tuning MongoDB solutions and implementing robust backup and recovery processes.
As a Database Administrator you will:
Manage and maintain multiple database servers across multiple environments through Atlas and Ops Manager ensuring consistent availability and performance
Design & implement redundancy and fail-over strategies
Monitor database performance tune and identify areas for improvement
Configure and maintain replica sets and sharded clusters to support scalability and resilience
Define and implement backup strategies per data retention requirements
Optimize queries and indexing strategies
Enforce best practices for data security including user access control data encryption and compliance with regulatory standards
Diagnose and resolve production issues as needed 24x7
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Develop and document best practices for maintenance monitoring migration and fail-over strategies
Use automation tools to streamline database management processes
What youll bring
Strong experience working with large distributed database systems with focus on performance & tuning.
Proven experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies including replica sets and operational experience with NoSQL Data Modeling
Deep knowledge of DB performance/scaling concepts and tuning best practices
Ability to write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts would be considered an advantage
Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Highly self-motivated with the desire to embrace new database technologies and must be able to work independently or within a team in a high demand and dynamic environment.
Strong team player with excellent written and verbal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment with a broad scope of responsibilities
Strong communication skills. Comfortable with collaboration open communication and reaching across functional borders
