We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health team at Mercer a Marsh business. This role will be based in Minneapolis and offers a hybrid work arrangement requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
As the Health & Benefits Consultant you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of employee benefits for our this dynamic position you will perform in-depth analyses for larger complex clients collaborating with Mercer subject matter experts to deliver exceptional results. Additionally you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior team members fostering a culture of quality and accuracy in all deliverables. We will count on you to:
- Provide financial contract and administrative analysis while managing portions of client projects and addressing ad hoc operational requests
- Support financial review and funding analysis including underwriting data analytics and collaboration with actuaries
- Contribute to client strategy by interpreting benchmark data presenting insights and ensuring plan and program changes align with client objectives
- Manage project quality timelines and deliverables; delegate to and review work from junior team members
- Coordinate internal specialty resources to ensure deliverables meet client goals deadlines and professional standards
- Lead preparation peer review and delivery of clear concise client-facing communications and reports
- Work directly with clients to manage the request for proposal (RFP) process with health insurance carriers and internal analysts
- Establish and manage carrier and vendor relationships to support benefits administration compliance and plan implementation
What you need to have:
- Bachelors degree
- 2 years of experience in health & benefits preferably in a consulting environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize by level of urgency
- Strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
