The ideal Cook III candidate for the Palmer House brings 2 years of solid culinary experience specifically in cold food production and a strong foundation in professional kitchen operations. This individual excels in both independent work and collaborative team settings supporting the cafeteria as their primary station while also assisting the banquets team as needed. They will oversee the cold pantry station where a strong understanding of vinaigrette production is essential! This candidate must demonstrate strong knife skills precision and attention to detail with a focus on quality consistency and large quantity preparation.
What will I be doing
As a Cook III you would be responsible for the preparation and execution of the cold food items for the cafeteria and banquets department in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Prepare maintain and restock the cafeteria salad bar to company standards ensuring freshness cleanliness and visual appeal.
Execute the preparation of salads vinaigrettes cold appetizers and composed dishes.
Support the Banquets department with prep work plating and largevolume production as needed.
Execute highquality food preparation using strong knife skills and safe efficient techniques.
Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency across all dishes.
Maintain a clean organized and sanitary work area in accordance with food safety guidelines.
Assist with receiving storing and rotating product to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
Communicate effectively with chefs and team members to support smooth kitchen operations.
Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal state local and company regulations
